Warranty Policy & Information
Manufacturer's Warranty: The manufacturer’s warranty is the main warranty
on all purchases. We can provide the specific manufacturer’s information that applies to
your furniture purchase. The terms and conditions of each manufacturer’s warranty will
vary, so please refer to the warranty for specific questions.
Manufacturers may cover different furniture component with different warranties.
Fabrics, in particular, tend to have shorter manufacturer warranties than the overall
item. COM (Customer Own Materials) fabrics added to chairs will carry the warranty of
the fabric manufacturer, not the chair manufacturer.
Wiley Office Furniture Warranty: in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty,
Wiley Office Furniture provides a 1 year parts and labor warranty on all new furniture
purchases. This in-house warranty runs concurrently with the manufacturer’s warranty.
Proof of purchase is required for utilization of the Wiley Office in-house warranty.
Parts Coverage Compared To Parts & Labor Coverage: almost all
manufacturers’ warranties only cover the cost of replacement parts but do not cover the
service labor associated with the repair. Warranty service calls may have service labor
charges even if the replacement repair parts are covered by the manufacturer. Please
refer to your manufacturer’s warranty for details on if they cover the service labor costs
for warranty repairs.
1 Shift Warranties Compared to 3 Shift Warranties: most
manufacturers’ warranties cover 1 shift (8 hour per day) usage and may be voided or
reduced if their furniture is used in multiple shifts per day. Manufacturers offering 3 shift
warranties cover the usage of the furniture for 3 shifts (24 hours per day) every day for
the term of the warranty. This is an important consideration if you will be using the
furniture in a multiple shift per day environment.
Herman Miller Warranty: Herman Miller offers a very effective 12 year, 3 shift
parts and labor warranty on their products (with some limited exclusions). This premier
warranty is an important factor to consider as part of the long-term cost of ownership
decision for your furniture purchase.
What is Not Covered Under Warranties: Normal wear from general usage;
intentional damage to item; damage from mis-use of the item; unapproved alterations of
any kind to the item; weather damage/wear to items; theft/loss of item; use of item with
weight in excess of the weight standards of the item (for example, most seating is rated
for 250 pounds; a 300 pound person using 250 pound seating will void the warranty as
this is deemed mis-use of the item. In general, non-reasonable use of an item will void
both the manufacturer’s warranty as well as the Wiley Office Furniture warranty.
